The fishing around Hoopers Island has been good. The key is looking into nooks and crannies the last two weeks of June. The spot pots are out now, and significantly slows the fishing down in the Honga River in the usual areas as a result. But we have found a pattern that is working and the old adage "persistence wears down the resistance" is true. We do not follow the striped bass to the upper bay. In the next 2 weeks we look for an abundance of silversides in the tributaries.
